Rick Ree attended EOL Plant Meeting at Missouri Botanical Gardens (St. Louis, MO).
- Nov 1st
Dr. Torsten Dikow was awarded and accpted a postdoctoral fellowship at BioSynC, will start in mid-January.
- Nov 6th
Jim Edwards, David Patterson and Mark Westneat presented EOL and BioSynC at the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (Duke University).
- Nov 13th
Neil Sarkar visited BioSynC to discuss aging and demography data in the EOL with Mark Westneat.
- Nov 15th
A mini synthesis meeting: "Visualizing the Tree of Life I: Developing a Graphic Interface for the EOL" took place via virtual communication. The meeting signifies the beginning of collaborative efforts between a team of Adobe Systems software engineers, scientists and academics. The goal was to initiate the creation of an intuitive, user friendly phylogenetic tree of life to be incorporated into the EOL when it is launched in February. The meeting took place in the afternoon and was attended by: Mark Westneat, Rick Ree, Audrey Aronowsky, David Patterson (MBL), and Adobe Software engineers Bob Murata, Gever Tulley, Marcos Westcamp, Simon Smith and Mike Sundermeyer.

Seminar: David Kidd (National Evolutionary Synthesis Center).
- Nov 26-27th
John McCarter and Mark Westneat met with the Institutional Council of the EOL at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. In addition, on Nov. 27 there was a co-PIs meeting with Jim Edwards at the Smithsonian Institution.
